Details of Legal Action Taken:

I received a formal email from the office of Jack Rankin MP. This email forwarded, verbatim, a deliberately anonymous and misleading statement from Thames Valley Police regarding their unlawful retention of my property.

The police statement, which the MP uncritically accepted and passed on as fact, falsely claimed the retention was justified, ignoring the court order of 30 June and the lack of any lawful basis. Crucially, the police author was not the investigating officer but a senior officer (Inspector Gidda) providing hearsay to create a plausible, but false, narrative.

My Perception of Purpose & Impact:

This email is the definitive proof of the MP's catastrophic failure of representation. He was in possession of my evidence, including a witnessed statement of a racist death threat (Log #514), yet he chose to disregard it completely.

Instead, he acted as a willing conduit for police disinformation, amplifying their false narrative and using the authority of his office to validate it. This action transforms his role from that of a neutral representative to an active participant in the institutional silencing and gaslighting of a victim of crime. This email is Exhibit A in the case for the Parliamentary Ombudsman, proving he chose to protect a corrupt institution over his own constituent.
